MEET OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM
Name: Andrea Fielding Job: TrainingStation Director
What does this involve? I liaise with employers that have a skills gap and are in need of finding the right apprentice to take on a role within their business. I also work closely with them to assess their people development needs for their existing workforce. TrainingStation then builds a bespoke training programme and can also help recruit the right apprentice for their business.
I meet with interested young people who are seeking an apprenticeship and develop their interview skills. I help them with confidence building, CV writing and match their skills and personality to potential apprenticeship vacancies.
I work closely with TrainingStation’s management team and assessors to continue to offer a quality programme to business and apprentices alike.
Background: I started in the travel industry as an apprentice and became a successful manager for a large multiple travel firm. I then followed my dream to work in training with travel apprentices for a large national provider. I went on to become a regional manager, then pursued the role of lead internal verifier for a national provider which led me to pursue the development of my own training business. I have been involved in work-based
learning for almost 20 years.
Favourite business memory: The rewarding feeling of witnessing an apprentice you have trained and developed to progress into a successful career in their chosen field which enables them to move up the career ladder.
Life outside the office: I enjoy keeping healthy, running, travelling, food and cookery and fun-filled family days out.
Describe yourself in three words: Driven, dedicated, fun.
Name: Lisa Whiteoak Job: TrainingStation Director
Favourite parts of the job? I love the variety of roles that I carry out from day to day. One day I could be marketing and networking with local employers and schools, the next I may be delivering a ski training session then there’s always the less exciting roles like budgets and business planning.
Background: After studying leisure and tourism at college and university I worked for a tour operator as a waitress/chambermaid in a ski resort in France before spending 12 months travelling and working around the world. Then the time came to get a real job and I worked in retail travel for eight years before embarking on a career in training. I started work for a national training provider where I worked my way up from assessor to North West and Northern Ireland team manager and Internal verifier. After 10 years I moved to a more specialist travel training provider to focus more on
the quality side of apprenticeships before moving to the apprenticeship department in a large college. After gaining invaluable experience in apprenticeship training for 15 years and seeing a gap in the market, I made the decision to set up my own training company.
Favourite business memory: Taking the big step to start up my own company in 2010 and helping lots of young people gain valuable qualifications which help them embark on successful careers.
Life outside the office: I love travelling, spending time with family and friends and taking part in lots of outdoor activities, my favourites being snowboarding and running.
Describe yourself in three words: Positive, social, ambitious.
